In response to these scandals, many schools have taken steps to ensure the fairest possible system for their athletes. Trey Griffey has had amazing success in football since high school, and when he went to college, he continued to play wide receiver. In his Arizona career, he had 79 catches for 1,241 yards and six touchdowns. Ken Griffey III started four games for the Wildcats as a redshirt freshman and had 14-170 yards and two touchdowns. He only started two games his sophomore year, but he had a better season with 31-105 and a touchdown. With 11-284 and one touchdown in his junior year, he didn’t have much of an influence on the squad.
Trey Griffey was released by the Indianapolis Colts two months after joining with the team.

With 23 catches for 382 yards and two scores, his senior season was his finest ever. Trey Griffey’s record after college was not great, and he went undrafted in the National Football League until the 2017 NFL draft. The Indianapolis Colts signed him as an undrafted free agent, according to Bleacher Report. Trey’s time with the Indianapolis Colts was brief, as he was discarded on June 12 due to an injury.

The Miami Dolphins signed Trey Griffey on August 15, according to the MLB. He appeared in both of the team’s preseason games, but no statistics were available for either. He was waived on September 2 after failing to meet the cutoff date. He remained out of the league for the remainder of 2017, but on Jan. 29, 2018, he signed a reserve or future contract.
Trey Griffey’s time with the Pittsburgh Steelers was brief.

According to Behind the Steel Curtain, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Trey Griffey to a reserve contract on Jan. 29, 2018, released him on Sep. 1, 2018, then had him join their practice squad the following day. On Jan. 1, 2019, the Pittsburgh Steelers resigned Trey and reserved him for a future contract after he generated four catches for 44 yards on nine targets on the practice squad.
While Griffey’s prospects of making an official roster are limited, his luck may change, and we may see him in the NFL if he continues to demonstrate his athleticism. He has the ability, and it’s possible that his lack of influence on NFL clubs is due to the league’s high level of competition. His father’s Hall of Fame performance is impressive, but making it to the NFL is something that just 1% of college football players do. Fans of the NFL still hope he will be picked and participate in official games one day.
When Ken Giffey Jr. was due to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016, his previous organization chose to pay tribute to him by squandering a draft pick on his football-obsessed son. Because he was drafted in the 24th round, which was his father’s number, he is listed on the MLB Draft Tracker as a center fielder, which was his father’s position.
According to SB Nation, the Seattle Mariners’ choice to choose him was irrational and wasteful since he had never played baseball in high school or college. He declined the draft, claiming he retired from baseball when he was 11 years old. Trey’s interest is football, and he made an incredible catch in the Advocare V100 Bowl in 2013.
