The Minnesota Vikings are considering a major change that would completely transform the entire organization. This is not just some minor tweak, but rather a complete overhaul of everything the team does.

The vikings safeties is a change that the Minnesota Vikings are considering. This would completely transform the organization and drastically alter how they operate on and off the field.

The Minnesota Vikings were almost at the top of the NFL mountain only four years ago.

With Case Keenum as quarterback, they took it to the NFC Championship game in 2017. They possessed two franchise wide receivers in Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, as well as an outstanding defense.

Now fast forward to 2021, and everything are starting to fall apart.

The Minnesota Vikings have had three consecutive seasons of disappointment.

While the Vikings were 13-3 in 2017, they have failed to come close to matching that level of success on the field since. They missed the playoffs in 2018 and 2020, and were blasted out in the 2019 Divisional Round by the San Francisco 49ers. Each season had its own set of problems and difficulties, but a similar thread ran through them all.

There are questions about Kirk Cousins’ ability to be a franchise quarterback, as well as Mike Zimmer’s ability to coach.

If the Vikings miss the playoffs for the third time in four years, one of these elements, according to at least one NFL writer, will be altered at the conclusion of the season.

Mike Zimmer is in hot water.

A defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals with 17 penalties seems like a horrific opening act in Mike Zimmer’s make-or-break season.

Following the Vikings’ Week 1 defeat, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora went on the record. He says that ownership is starting to send the word that if they don’t make the playoffs, “big changes” would occur:

The Vikings’ overtime defeat to the Bengals last Sunday only added to the stress in the organization, as ownership has expressed to certain associates their desire for the team to be a playoff contender this season in order to avoid significant changes.

According to insiders, the Wilfs, who control the club, have contemplated major changes in the past, including seriously considering parting ways with head coach Mike Zimmer despite a playoff berth two years ago. The importance of this season to the organization’s job security is not lost on those who work there.

The NFL season in 2021 is still in its early stages. If you’re Zimmer, though, this is clearly not something you want to witness. Zimmer has long been a source of dissatisfaction among Vikings supporters. Now it seems that ownership is as well.

What’s next for Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer and his team?

To be successful in the future, the Vikings will need to find a method to recreate some of their previous brilliance from 2017 and 2019. Offensively, Dalvin Cook is a fantastic method to relieve load on Cousins. The defense will have to find new methods to be more effective as well.

As things stand now, the Vikings’ secondary seems to be a major concern (Pro Football Talk). To address such a problem, a midseason trade might be in order.

Another goal should be to rely on second-year wide receiver Justin Jefferson, like they did last year.

Zimmer and the Vikings, on the other hand, are feeling the heat. If the experienced head coach cannot get his team to produce, the Vikings will have to make some significant changes in the summer.
