The New York Times reported that Jameis Winston, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback who was alleged to have raped a student at Florida State University in 2012, would be suspended for three games. Many are hoping this will help Cam Newton get his job back with the Carolina Panthers.

The “taysom hill news today” is the latest update on Jameis Winston’s injury. The Saints are hoping for Cam Newton to replace him, but it may be too late.

With a win against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New Orleans Saints stunned the world. The Saints have a lot to be thrilled about after Sean Payton called up a fantastic game plan against Brady once again.

However, quarterback Jameis Winston’s injury is a major worry, and the early signals do not indicate that he will be able to play the rest of the season.

Winston was taken to the locker room in the second quarter after suffering a devastating knee injury, enabling Trevor Siemian to step in and lead the Saints to victory.

Now the issue of what to do with New Orleans’ quarterback room looms, and Cam Newton is the first name that comes to mind.

Jameis Winston’s future seems to be bleak.

It didn’t seem to be a positive situation at the time of the injury. Don’t watch the video if you haven’t already.

With his ACL and MCL being injured, everyone’s greatest fears have been verified. After the win, Saints head coach Sean Payton addressed the injury (h/t SI Now’s John Hendrix).

“I sobbed as I walked in.” You know, it’s difficult.”

Payton’s statement demonstrates the severity of the damage. Winston’s season is most certainly gone, which is awful.

Yes, the Saints shocked everyone when P.J. Williams intercepted Brady and drove the Superdome into a frenzy as they celebrated their triumph.

While the Saints won the game, Winston’s injury is the most serious issue. Winston’s season seems to be over for the time being.

The Saints need to address their quarterback position, and Cam Newton should be given a serious look.

Cam Newton should be contacted by New Orleans.

On the one hand, Siemian didn’t have a very bad game. He completed 16 of 29 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown. Is he, nevertheless, the solution as time goes on? No, that is not the case.

They need a backup even if Siemian is the solution. Taysom Hill is still rehabilitating from an injury, and then there’s Notre Dame youngster Ian Book.

In a perplexing NFC South, the Saints moved to 5-2 on the season and are just one win behind the Buccaneers. The Saints have a chance to reach the playoffs and are currently in the mix.

Is Cam Newton a step forward? Probably. Furthermore, when Payton was the quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, he faced Newton on a regular basis, so he is familiar with his habits.

Hill isn’t the solution. After all, everyone saw how well that worked out last season when Drew Brees was sidelined. Siemian may be a star, but even with the win, he didn’t put on a show.

Newton hasn’t played since being released by the New England Patriots before the start of the season. Both the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys were believed to be interested in Newton, but neither club took the plunge.

On Sunday, the Carolina Panthers witnessed Sam Darnold go down and may give Newton a look, albeit who knows how he feels about it.

Who knows? It may not be beautiful. With Alvin Kamara leading the way, the Saints are a run-first club, and bringing Newton in for the remainder of the season wouldn’t cost much.

The season is winding down in New Orleans, and something must be done.

Winston’s injury is terrible. The Saints, on the other hand, must act soon. The NFL trade deadline is nearing, and they may make a QB acquisition. Alternatively, they might stay with Siemian, which doesn’t seem encouraging.

Newton, probably the finest free-agent quarterback on the market, is up for the taking. The Saints have already utilized their bye week, and the following three weeks are a make-or-break period with games against the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and Philadelphia Eagles.

All eyes will be on Winston’s predicament, and even more on New Orleans’ efforts to resolve the quarterback dilemma.
