When I was young, I used to watch my father play basketball. He was a decent player, and I learned a lot from him. I remember that on one particular game, he was in the middle of a fast break. He was deep in the lane, and a defender was chasing him hard. My father suddenly chucked the ball to a teammate, and then kept running. In all my years, I’ve never seen someone get that close to the basket without even attempting a shot. So, what happened? My father didn’t pass that ball to his teammate. Instead, he tossed it over his head, and the defence, thinking it was going out of bounds, didn’t have a chance to catch it. My father ran by the

The NBA has been the league of Jordan for almost 20 years now. It’s been a dynasty, and one that has had its share of superstars and villains. Now, as times changes, some of the league’s stars are getting too old and are being replaced by younger, meaner players. One of the more prominent examples is Kobe Bryant.
Michael Jordan continues to loom big in popular culture, despite the fact that he hasn’t played in the NBA in a long time. While his on-court prowess is undeniably important, His Airness is also known for being a fierce competitor and a nasty trash talker. Darrick Martin can attest to it.
Despite the fact that Martin isn’t a big name, he was involved in a famous Michael Jackson event. Jordan made an amazing comeback, winning the Chicago Bulls a victory and putting the opposition point guard in his place, sparked by some verbal warfare.
Michael Jordan and Darrick Martin met for the first time on the set of “Space Jam.”
Jordan’s crushing (trash talk) blow occurred on the basketball court, but his relationship to Matin goes back a little farther. When His Airness was shooting Space Jam in Hollywood, the two guys first met.
During his time on the backlot, Michael Jordan needed to remain in shape, so Warner Brothers built the Jordan Dome. A basketball court, exercise facilities, and whatever else the living legend need were all covered by the inflatable bubble. It was also the scene of several spectacular pickup games.
Martin was allowed to participate in several of the competitions since he is a UCLA graduate. He even managed to sink the game-winning shot and hurl some trash talk Jordan’s way on one occasion.
During a “Who’s the Ross” interview on YouTube, the guard remembered, “I started spewing the greatest trash ever.” “‘Get out of my town, Michael.’ You’re not even the genuine Michael Jackson. Magic Johnson, my buddy, is the MJ.’ I simply can’t stop talking.”
Jordan, on the other hand, had his vengeance before the day was done. His team defeated Martin’s, and MJ responded with some trash language directed at the guard.
Darrick Martin was subsequently taught a lesson about prodding the bear by His Airness.
It’s an oldie, but it’s a goodie…

Jordan and Martin went their own ways after their Hollywood meeting. They did, however, reconnect on the NBA floor not long after.
Chicago traveled to Vancouver towards the conclusion of a lengthy road trip in the early days of the 1995-96 season. The Grizzlies raced off to a comfortable lead early, taking advantage of some potentially heavy legs, giving Martin an opportunity to trash-talk his former adversary.
On Sportsnet’s Reach Deep, the guard remembered, “Last two minutes of the game, I went past, made a lay-up, got a and-one, and put us up, I think eight.” “So I went over to Jordan and said, ‘Hey, I told you we were going to defeat you tonight.’”
As you would imagine, MJ was not pleased with the remark. He glanced at Phil Jackson and checked back into the game while already sitting on the bench with his shoes undone and a towel over his head. His Airness took control, and the Bulls were able to escape Vancouver with a 94-88 victory.
“He’s staring at the bench as he scores the game-winner, so to speak. Martin added, “I was on the bench at the time.” “’Look, tiny fellow,’ he says. He also spoke a few direct things to me. ‘I warned you about talking trash to me,’ she says.

While Martin was the loser that night, he wasn’t the only one who had to bear the brunt of His Airness’s wrath. Jordan even gave his own agency a lesson in professionalism.
During a 2005 interview with Cigar Aficionado, MJ said, “We had a dinner meeting, and I couldn’t get a word in.” “His business paid for the dinner. He always double-checks the pricing before ordering wine or anything else. But that night, he took a break from what we were discussing to double-check the price.”
Jordan got irritated with his inability to get a word in edgewise at some point. To that aim, he chose to convey a message using his worry about price points.
“Now I say, ‘Give me the most expensive wine, and he’ll pay the bill,’” Jordan said. “Then I say, ‘Every time you interrupt what we’re discussing, I’m going to get another bottle.’ I was able to calm him down when I began purchasing the ’61s, and we were able to get through the discussion. That is based on real events.”
Whether you’re on Michael Jordan’s side or not, the message is clear: don’t mess with him. He’ll be more than willing to complete a lesson.

After their first NBA meeting, Larry Bird predicted Michael Jordan’s stardom: ‘That Guy Is Gonna Be the Greatest Player Ever, You Watch.’

It is not about a “disrespectful fan”, but rather how the player should respond to being taunted. If this were your child, how would you respond?.
