On the Pat McAfee show, Jordan Love discusses his future in the NFL. He talks about what he looks for a team and why it is important to have good coaches around him as well as good players.

The “jordan love packers” is an upcoming episode of the “The Pat McAfee Show”. The show will feature a discussion between Jordan Love and Pat McAfee. If Jordan Love’s future is determined to be with the Packers, then it would be a big step for his career.

Jordan Love's Future Could Be Determined on 'The Pat McAfee Show'

To think that The Pat McAfee Show will determine the destiny of Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Jordan Love. That might very well be the case, as the Green Bay quarterback ahead of Love on the depth chart, Aaron Rodgers, should be reaching a decision on his future.

What a world we live in.

Rodgers has previously said that when he makes an announcement, he would do it alongside McAfee, former teammate A.J. Hawk, and “the fellas.”

That announcement may come at any time, and Love is likely to be watching and listening attentively as the four-time MVP makes his decision.

The Green Bay Packers created a stir when they selected Jordan Love in the first round.

This is something that love never asked for.

The Packers selected the athletic but inexperienced quarterback out of Utah State in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Green Bay was clearly not comfortable waiting at pick 30 and expecting that Love would slip in a selection that had already seen three quarterbacks go (including Joe Burrow, who went No. 1 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals).

General manager Brian Gutekunst stunned the NFL world by trading up four places and selecting a quarterback with the 30th selection and choice No. 136 (a fourth-rounder) sent to the Miami Dolphins. Despite the fact that Rodgers is still on the roster and seems to be in his prime.

It was reminiscent of the Packers’ decision to choose Rodgers despite the presence of Brett Favre, although even then… The Packers snatched Rodgers. They didn’t go out of their way to obtain him.

It was a watershed moment for the franchise, but whatever Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur saw in Love, his hiring sparked a feud between Rodgers and the front office.

Rodger, to his credit, never took his frustrations out on Love, and he seems to have a good working relationship with his backup quarterback. His immediate response, though, was revealing.

In May of 2020, he told USA Today, “I was watching the draft stream with A.J. Hawk and Pat McAfee, and my immediate emotion was surprise.” “Obviously, I wasn’t delighted with the selection, but the company is focused on the present and future.” They wanted to move up and grab him since he is such a talented player.”

For the Packers, love is still a rare commodity.

Love was the team’s third-string quarterback his first season, yet he didn’t even play.

Love did got his first opportunities to take the reigns of Green Bay’s offense after Rodgers “held out” for most of the summer. He looked to be doing well throughout the summer, but when Rodgers returned to training camp, he was promptly demoted to the bench.

Due to a positive COVID-19 test, Love did start a game in 2021 with Rodgers on the bench. That game, a heartbreaking road loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, saw the inexperienced quarterback complete 19 of 34 passes for 190 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

There was no denying that he was in a difficult situation. He was on the road at one of the hardest stadiums in the NFL, Arrowhead Stadium, facing a Kansas City defense that was beginning to heat up. Not to mention Patrick Mahomes on the opposite side of the field. What a terrifying situation for a rookie quarterback making his first start.

Love ultimately underwhelmed in that game, but one game does not create a quarterback.

Love also had lengthy action against the Detroit Lions in the season’s last game. In that game, he seemed more at ease, completing 10 of 17 passes for 134 yards and a score but also throwing two interceptions.

Love is still a mystery, at least to the general public, as he enters his third season. He looks to possess all of the physical attributes necessary to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, but can he bring it all together?

When it comes to Love, that’s the question, and that’s why the Packers are doing all they can to re-sign Rodgers for 2022 and beyond. That’s not to suggest Green Bay made a mistake by taking Love in the first round; it’s still too early to know. With that stated, the Packers are plainly not ready to give over the reigns to him until it is absolutely necessary.

What does the future hold for Love?

Rodgers said that he would not prolong the process. He understands that the Packers have a lot of work ahead of them this summer, and he also understands that he is a key piece of the jigsaw nonetheless.

The Packers are acting as though Rodgers will return. They’re working hard to clear cap space and effectively mortgage their future in order to keep the four-time MVP’s Super Bowl window open.

The problem is that no one but Rodgers knows what he’ll do, and he may not even know himself at this time.

What we do know is that the majority of the NFL world will tune in the next time he appears on The Pat McAfee Show.

Last Thursday, Rodgers arrived and promptly burst McAfee’s bubble by declaring that no decision had been taken. He may do the same thing the next time, but given the schedule, there’s a good possibility he’ll make his announcement shortly.

Rodgers’ choice will ultimately determine Love’s future.

If Rodgers chooses to return, Love will likely be a backup for another year or two. He may potentially be traded, something the Packers should investigate.

However, if Rodgers chooses to retire or play elsewhere, Love will take over as the Green Bay Packers’ main quarterback.

Love’s whole career direction might be dictated by a Youtube program hosted by a guy who seldom, if ever, wears sleeves.

ESPN and Pro Football Reference provided the statistics. Spotrac provides contract information.
