James Harden has officially left the Oklahoma City Thunder to join their rivals in Houston. His ex-teammates are not sad about it, but there’s a feeling that despite his departure, he’ll be back eventually.

The “who does james harden play for” is a question that has been asked since the Houston Rockets traded James Harden to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The answer is not surprising, as there are many people who do not want him on their team.

James Harden's Ex-Nets Teammates Aren't Sad to See Him Go

Much of the behind-the-scenes instability with the Brooklyn Nets arose after the big deal that sent James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers. The talented guard turned into a tremendous thorn in the Nets’ side that the team couldn’t control.

With his push out of Brooklyn, Harden irritated a lot of his teammates. The circumstance was eerily similar to his last weeks with the Houston Rockets. Harden’s old colleagues expressed their true feelings about him as he enters the new chapter of his career with the 76ers.

In Brooklyn, James Harden sparked internal strife.

The Nets have been the subject of persistent speculation over the previous several weeks that Harden wanted to play somewhere else.

Despite the fact that the Nets kept the matter under wraps, the internal strife was palpable. According to recent rumors, Harden prefers to play for the 76ers, which has sparked trade speculation surrounding the team.

Following Ben Simmons’ blockbuster trade to the 76ers, further behind-the-scenes difficulties arose. Harden had a conflict of interest with head coach Steve Nash’s offensive style, according to reports. Simultaneously, he despised his diminished offensive role behind Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

The writing was on the wall, and his former Nets colleagues were eager to state that they no longer wanted to play with him.

James Harden’s former Nets teammates aren’t saddened by his departure.

It didn’t take long for James Harden’s real colors to emerge once the Nets finally pulled the rug out from under him.

Following the Nets’ 11-game losing run ending with a 109-85 thrashing of the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, veteran guard Bruce Brown made some revealing remarks.

“There’s a terrific atmosphere in there,” Brown remarked of the changing area. “I’m not sure what that is.” After the trade deadline, everything suddenly altered. “Everyone loves everyone.”

Brown’s remarks are an indirect shot at Harden as he clearly indicated the team’s mood changed after the trade deadline. If that doesn’t unsubtly single out the 10-time All-Star, then what truly does. These strong comments line up with Front Office Sports‘ Anthony Puccio report that many Nets’ players didn’t like the former league MVP.

Harden’s situation was starting to spiral out of control, and the Nets had no choice but to transfer the star guard. His behind-the-scenes actions had reached a stage where general manager Sean Marks decided it was time to call a halt to the relationship for the sake of all parties.

Regardless, it’s evident that Harden outstayed his welcome in Brooklyn, and his teammates were fed up.

Harden can now move forward now that the Nets’ mess is behind him.

The 32-year-old is now a member of the squad he wanted to join in the first place. If the 76ers want to contend for an NBA championship, Harden will have to find a way to work together with star big man Joel Embiid.

Harden told The New York Post, “I needed to be among players that wanted to win and would do everything it took to win.” “The time has come to seize the opportunity. My role is to go out there and assist the whole team in winning a championship this year and in the years to follow.”

Harden will have more than 20 games to get to know Embiid and his new colleagues on the field. The deal also brings a significant adjustment for Embiid, as the great guard will be the best backcourt player he’s ever faced. For Harden to thrive offensively, he’ll have to take on a smaller offensive role.

Prior to the trade deadline, Embiid was having an MVP-caliber season, leading the team with 29.5 points. Embiid has been the driving force behind the 76ers’ campaign for fourth place in the Eastern Conference, where they are 2.5 games behind the Miami Heat for first place.

Furthermore, since that’s where Harden wanted to play, the onus is firmly on him to make it work.
