ICYMI: Jay Tatum put up a dud of an effort in the third quarter during last night’s game against Washington.
In his defense, he was locked into battle with power forward and former Rockets teammate Andrea Bargnani.

“Ime Udoka Not Shy In Calling Out Jayson Tatum After Embarrassing 3rd Quarter” is a blog article that discusses the embarrassing third quarter that Jayson Tatum had in his NBA debut. The author, Ime Udoka, does not shy away from calling out the young player for his poor performance. Read more in detail here: how tall is jayson tatum.

Despite losing another double-digit lead in Game 1 against the Miami Heat on Tuesday, Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka saw some silver linings. Payton Pritchard and Aaron Nesmith, two of his young players, performed well. In the absence of Al Horford, Robert Williams stepped through with a strong effort in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Milwaukee Bucks.

In addition, Udoka said that his side won three of the four quarters. Although it isn’t much of a consolation prize for the Celtics or their supporters, the coach had no qualms in criticizing three-time All-Star Jayson Tatum and other veterans for their poor third-quarter efforts.

For a half, the Celtics looked impressive. Despite learning a few hours before game time that starters Marcus Smart and Al Horford would not play, the Celtics held their own against the Heat.

At halftime, the Celtics were up 62-54. In the opening 24 minutes, they played solid basic basketball.

Then came the third quarter.

Miami, like Boston, was an entirely different team. The Heat went on a 22-2 run to start the third quarter, outscoring the Celtics 39-14 to transform an eight-point deficit into a 17-point lead after three quarters.

According to CLNS Media, Udoka remarked after the game, “We were out-toughed, out-physicaled.” “They seemed to want to step up their aggressiveness and intensity on both ends in the second half.” That was done. In that quarter, we had eight of our 16 turnovers.”

Tatum was responsible with six of the turnovers. He was sloppy with the ball on successive possessions, giving it over as Miami capitalized on his errors.

Udoka said, “Obviously, Al and Marcus are two of our older men that calm us down at times.” “You could overlook that. It wasn’t only those people and those young guys in Payton. Jayson and a few of our veterans were making the same errors.”

Jimmy Butler ruined the Boston Celtics’ season.

On Tuesday, Jimmy Butler was the greatest player on the floor. Butler is a fierce competitor, and his teammates thrive off of him, particularly in the third quarter. He scored 41 points and took command when necessary.

After the game, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra summed up Butler well.

According to ESPN, Spoelstra said, “Jimmy Butler is a top competitor.” “There are a lot of basketball-playing players in this league.” He’s in it to win it. That’s a whole different thing, and he does it better than anybody else in the league.”

Butler also brilliantly summed up his own performance.

“I kept playing basketball the proper way,” he recalled, “shooting the ball when I was open, attacking, and hitting the open person.” “To be honest, it was a group effort.”

Butler was an important element of Udoka’s physicality. Rather of shooting threes all night like the Celtics, he brings it to the rim and enjoys the contact. He was 0 for 2 from three-point range, but he hit 17 of 18 free throws. Tatum, on the other hand, continued to struggle with his long-range shooting, hitting just two of nine attempts. Tatum was 12-for-24 against the Bucks in Games 6 and 7, but just 5-for-27 in Games 3-5.

According to The Athletic, Butler said, “I want to run into people and see who goes down first, who is going to quit first.” “I believe that is the kind of basketball I like playing. They feel the same way. And I went 0-for-2 from three tonight. Next game, I want to go 0-for-0 because I simply want to keep crashing into people.”

Udoka was unable to provide much information about Horford.

Smart’s absence had been anticipated. After injuring his foot in Game 7 against the Bucks, he was labeled as doubtful for the Heat’s season opener.

The Horford news came about three hours before tipoff Tuesday when Shams Charania of The Athletic tweeted the Boston center was in health and safety protocols.

Udoka explained the issue as best he could.

“As usual, we don’t comment on our athletes’ situation,” Udoka stated, according to Yahoo Sports. “He’s OK, and we’ll take it from there.” “Wait for the findings and follow-up testing.”

Horford has been put under health and safety guidelines for the third time. Udoka had no idea how much time he’d be missing.

“It’s uncertain.” “Honestly, that’s more of a medical issue,” Udoka replied. “However, there are many processes and exams that must be passed, and we’ll learn more as time goes on.” But it’s not a certain that he’ll miss two games.”
