The US Women’s National Soccer Team just won the 2019 FIFA World Cup, becoming the first women’s team to ever win it. The players and coach Megan Rapinoe were all hailed as heroes for their appearance of defiance in a country that has long discriminated against female athletes.

The “don’t know what your saying your flying higher than a plane lyrics” is a song by the band “The White Buffalo”. The song talks about how people are unwilling to take risks in life.

‘I Don’t Know How You Don’t Get on That Plane’

People all throughout the NFL are taking turns condemning Urban Meyer’s failed experiment as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, now that his stint has officially ended. Marshall Faulk, the Hall of Fame running back, is the latest to weigh in on what went wrong in Duval County. Long before the front office pulled the plug, the retiring star says he spotted the writing on the wall.

Urban Meyer’s worst blunder, according to Marshall Faulk.

Marshall Faulk went into sports media after retiring from the NFL because he had strong opinions. Urban Meyer’s transfer from college football to the NFL was always met with suspicion from him.

Meyer’s unsuccessful time with the Jaguars and the repercussions of his termination were discussed on The Rich Eisen Show recently by the former Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Rams running back.

Meyer’s connection with the club shifted after a Week 4 defeat to the Bengals, according to the seven-time Pro Bowler.

Instead of returning to Jacksonville with his players and coaching staff on the team jet, the head coach wound up at an Ohio tavern, causing controversy.

“I’m not sure how you didn’t get on that aircraft,” Faulk remarked. “You may board that aircraft and go back in a private jet.” But I’m not sure how you’re not getting on that aircraft. I don’t want to pry into the man’s private life. It occurs, but not being able to board the aircraft was the determining factor. You don’t board the aircraft without your teammates. That’s never happened before.”

Marshall Faulk has had the opportunity to play for some great head coaches, but he does not believe Urban Meyer has the same attributes.

Meyer was never expected to make it with the Jaguars, according to the Hall of Famer.

Many college coaches have sought to make the transition to the NFL, but only a handful have been successful. Urban Meyer’s absence from the Jacksonville Jaguars is not surprising, according to Marshall Faulk.

“I’m not going to kick him when he’s down,” Faulk said. “However, they honed in on me. I was thinking, how do you recruit a person when he’s stepped down from every position he’s held? That will happen at some point.”

Meyer’s ability to assist rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence improve early in his NFL career was also questioned by the Hall of Fame running back.

“If I’m going to hire a college coach,” Faulk remarked. “I understand Arizona because Kliff Kingsbury has produced potential at quarterback. I really didn’t get why Urban Meyer was brought in to coach the young quarterback. He had Alex Smith as his lone starting quarterback in the NFL for all of his excellent teams. That made an impression on me. I couldn’t put my faith in him with the first overall choice.”

Despite saying he didn’t want to kick Meyer when he was down, Faulk couldn’t help but smile at the fact that he knew the experiment would fail.

Faulk screamed, “I told you so!”

Jacksonville has to be cautious with its next hiring.

Shad Khan, the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Trent Baalke, the general manager, have a lot of work to do in the summer.

With the hiring of Urban Meyer, the Jaguars have made a mistake and must now find a new head coach who can build confidence in the players and the fan base.

In the meanwhile, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell is holding down the fort. Still, he seems to be a band-aid solution. Several names have been mentioned as possible contenders for the vacant head coaching position in 2022.

Byron Leftwich, the offensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, makes a lot of sense, particularly considering his playing history with the Jaguars. If Josh McDaniels, the offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots, takes the position, he may assist develop Trevor Lawrence.

Eric Bieniemy of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kellen Moore of the Dallas Cowboys are both looking for their first head coaching jobs in the NFL. Former head coaches like as Doug Pederson and Jim Caldwell also come to mind.

Regardless matter the path Khan and Baalke choose, they must exercise caution. Urban Meyer has left a splintered locker room in his wake. The Jaguars want a strong leader who can acquire the confidence of the players and coaches while also steering the ship in the correct direction.

Jacksonville has some intriguing elements in place, but it must make a sensible decision to prevent calamity once again.
