The retiring of Steven Gerrard and the departure of Gareth Barry from the team has resulted in a lot of speculation around who Liverpool will turn to if they are unable to sign a new central midfielder this summer.
When you think of a professional athlete, the first thing that comes to mind is probably not the sense of responsibility and sacrifice they have to take on during their careers. But you know what? It’s time we’re talking about how these guys are treated when they’re long gone and retired.
As far as LeBron James is concerned, all he cares about is winning. The LeBron James sweepstakes is a testament to that. The Cavs, Lakers, Mavericks and Heat are all trying to get James—I’m not even sure if I need to explain why. To make things even crazier, James has no desire to say “yes” to all these teams. That is, until the Cavs finally called. The Cavs tried and failed to land James in 2011. In 2012, the Cavs came back with a three-year, $110 million contract. The offer was declined. Then, the Cavs tried and failed to land James last summer. In 2014, the Cavs came right back with a four-year deal (
Many basketball fans probably know that the relationship between Michael Jordan and Kwame Brown, at least when they played together for the Washington Wizards, was not a good one. Veteran sports journalist Jason Whitlock thinks that’s an understatement. Brown has recently returned to the spotlight, criticizing everyone from Matt Barnes to Stephen A. Smith. While praising the 2001 freshman’s charisma, Whitlock gave his opinion on Jordan’s influence on Brown in his life.Jason Whitlock accused Michael Jordan of bullying Kwame Brown
Jason Whitlock accused Michael Jordan (left) of molesting his young teammate Kwame Brown | G Fiume/Getty Images Veteran sportswriter Jason Whitlock has criticized Michael Jordan’s tenure with the Washington Wizards, including the six-time champion’s desire for total control and the attitude of his players. In a recent interview with Scoon TV, Whitlock talked about Jordan’s relationship with Kwame Brown, who was voted #1 in 2001. He said Jordan wanted the Wizards to trade Brown for Elton Brand, who at the time was a rising star among center players. The Los Angeles Clippers purchased Brand from the Bulls in June 2001. According to Whitlock, Jordan wanted to win, and the rookie center, who had never played college basketball, did not contribute. Since Jordan was in his 30s and didn’t want to waste his time developing Brown, this scenario was a problem. The greatest player in NBA history sabotaged the first two years of Kwame’s career, spreading the word that Kwame was a loser. Kwame was a victim of Jordan’s petty and cruel nature. Kwame has never been able to detach himself from the story of the most powerful man in basketball. He must have worn it for 20 years. Jason Whitlock The Wizards eventually sold Brown to the Los Angeles Lakers in August 2005, more than two years after Jordan played his last game.
Whitlock also praised Brown for standing up for himself
Whitlock is not one to criticise Brown for expressing his opinion. In reality, it was the opposite. Whitlock said he spoke briefly with Brown and encouraged him to continue sharing his thoughts. Their brief conversation made a big impression on the veteran sports journalist. This guy has the intelligence of Grant Hill, the charisma of Ali, the balls of Malcolm X and the vocabulary of Richard Pryor. He’s a destroyer. It has a message and an agenda. Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson are just props he uses to win over an audience. He didn’t care about those guys. He has two goals: 1) get the sports media to adopt their conversation; 2) protect his ability to be a father to his children. Jason Whitlock Whitlock added that he wouldn’t mind if Brown criticized him at some point. I’m just glad he’s making a difference, Whitlock said of Brown. I think over time, as his business grows, he will focus more on content. Whitlock says he’s a fan of Brown’s comments and composure. Others in the world of sports media cannot say the same. Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson criticized Brown in theUp in Smokepodcast. Jemele Hill, a former ESPN host who now writes for The Atlantic, got into an argument with Brown on social media over her choice of violence. Hill later clarified his comments on Twitter, explaining that the comment about violence was a reference to Game of Thronesand. To Kwame Brown: I said you chose violence. That’s a line from Game of Thrones. I didn’t call you cruel. You’re welcome, and thank you. – Jemele Hill (@jemelehill) May 19, 2021 Stephen A. Smith of ESPN gained popularity by criticizing Brown during his playing career. When the 2001 first-round pick fell to Smith, the ESPN star responded by showing videos of Brown’s mistakes and worst play on Stephen A’s World, his show on ESPN+. At the time of publication, Jordan had not yet commented on Brown or responded to recent events. Like Sportscasting on Facebook. Follow us on Twitter @sportscasting19 .
