Elden Ring is a multiplayer action RPG where players can summon allies to fight alongside them, loot and upgrade gear & skills. If you’re looking for an expansive co-op experience with friends online in 2019 then this game could be the one for you!
The “elden ring co op with friends” is a game that has been released for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. The objective of the game is to help your fellow players complete their quests.
Elden Ring’s co-op multiplayer with friends is similar to those of From Software’s previous Souls and Souls-like games. It does, however, have a Martin-like quality to it, thanks to the amount of fingers you’ll need to acquire and utilize to team up with teammates against bosses or other threats. So, how does The Lands Between handle friendly multiplayer?
This Elden Ring tutorial will teach you all there is to know about co-op multiplayer with pals, summoning allies, PvP, and invasions. Overall, there’s a little more going on here than in previous From games.
Check visit our companion tutorial here to learn how to start PvP multiplayer or invade as a red phantom.
How Elden Ring Co-Op Multiplayer Works is Described
If you have the necessary equipment and other players to summon or invade, Elden Ring co-op multiplayer is accessible pretty fast. Gold summon signals indicate cooperative play, whereas red summon signs indicate invasion by PvP.
There’s a summoning range here, much as in previous From Souls games with PvP and co-op multiplayer. There are two mechanics at work here, according to From:
- The current character level of a player.
- The highest weapon upgrade level a player has ever attained.
Let’s start with the second portion. The greatest weapon upgrade level you, as a cooperator or invader, have ever attained on a given character — lifetime. For co-op multiplayer, if you’ve improved any weapon to +3 and placed it in storage or sold it to, say, Merchant Kale’, that’s your maximum weapon upgrade level. On that character, indefinitely, or until you upgrade a weapon to a higher level.
Now we’ll move on to the character level. Though we haven’t yet paired up with other co-op players, this seems to function in a similar way to earlier Souls games, where players may team up if their character levels are near enough. We’ll do our best to pinpoint the precise levels, although individuals who use Elden Ring’s password system can get around this. Higher-level players will be suitably “deleveled” in relation to the host.
You can’t ride Torrent in multiplayer, either.
Other necessary equipment and information to get started with co-op multiplayer in Elden Ring are listed below. There’s a lot more to the game than this that we didn’t get to during our early access time (some of which we’ll discuss in this guide), but we’ll keep this information updated as we play more.
How to Get the Tarnished’s Furled Finger and the Finger Severer
You may either proceed straight ahead, up the steps, and through the door as you approach the Stranded Graveyard, the game’s first actual setting, or down to the right into the Cave of Knowledge.
Whatever path you choose in the Stranded Graveyard, you’ll eventually come upon your first Site of Grace. A purple item marker may be found just ahead of you in the right corner. Pick up the Finger Severer and the Tarnished’s Furled Finger from the Tarnished’s Furled Finger. The Finger Severer lets you dismiss other players, both friends and foes, while the Tarnished’s Furled Finger lets you draw a gold summon sign on the ground if you haven’t already called an NPC ghost ally.
To access Limgrave and the open environment of The Lands Between, use the elevator immediately ahead.
The Small Golden Effigy: How to Get It
You’ll notice a guy and a Site of Grace ahead of you as you emerge. Instead of going to them, take a shortcut halfway down the hill. A silver, luminous statue may be seen on the left. It’s a Summoning Pool here. Examine it to activate it and get the Small Golden Effigy, a new co-op multiplayer tool.
If you don’t get it here, you’ll be able to get it from other Summoning Pools in Limgrave, which will give you the Effigy.
So, what exactly does it do? The Small Golden Effigy sends a summon sign to a nearby Summoning Pool, allowing other players to see your summon sign without needing to use the Tarnished’s Furled Finger. Furthermore, after using the Small Golden Effigy, you may use the Tarnished’s Furled Finger to leave a gold summon sign, and vice versa.
The Small Golden Effigy, like the Furled Finger, must be activated by interacting with a Summoning Pool, and it cannot be used if you have summoned an NPC phantom ally. Finally, a summoning pool is always active once you interact with it.
How to Get Rid of Furlcalling Fingers
Rest in the Site of Grace above the Stranded Graveyard’s multiplayer Summoning Pool before heading north to the Church of Elleh. Speak with Merchant Kale and purchase the Crafting Kit for 300 Runes if you have enough Runes (maybe you picked the Lands Between Rune Keepsake).
This will provide you access to the Furlcalling Finger Remedy crafting recipe (x2 Erdleaf Flower for x1 Remedy). In both PvP and co-op multiplayer, use this item to show summon signs.
Although the exact size of the region covered is unknown, it will rapidly show you signs near boss fog gates and other high-traffic spots. We tried applying two Finger Remedies within three minutes of each other and received a nullification notice for the first. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
In Multiplayer Sessions, how many players may there be?
A multiplayer session in Elden Ring may include up to four participants. The host player (also known as the Host of Fingers), two friends (Furled Fingers or Hunters), and an invader (a Bloody Finger, Recusant, or Duelist).
Allies and invaders have different names depending on their roles in a multiplayer game. We’ll stick with Furled Fingers and Hunters for co-op multiplayer. We’ll cover PvP in another guide, which we’ll link to here.
- Furled Fingers: This is a typical cooperator. They become members of the Host of Fingers and assist them in defeating the area boss. They can, of course, defend the Host against intruders. These friends enter games using the Furcalling Finger or an Effigy and instantly depart after the boss is slain.
- Hunters: In a Host’s planet, Hunters aggressively search for intruders and do not assist in defeating the boss. They can only win if the invader is slain. These companions utilize the Blue Cipher Ring to locate folks in need of assistance and exit the game automatically after the invader is slain.
Elden Ring: How to Create a Multiplayer Password
If you like, you may create a password for your friends to use to join you. Elden Ring does caution, however, that you will not always be paired with your pals; you will “for most multiplayer functions.”
In any case, here’s how you may create a multiplayer password:
- To get started, go to the main menu.
- Select “Multiplayer” from the drop-down menu.
- Under the password box on the right side of the screen, press the specified input.
- Hover your mouse over the “Multiplayer Password” box to see the password.
- “OK” should be selected (shown by the button prompts at the bottom of the screen).
- Please type in your password.
- Press “OK” one again.
You’re ready to go after you’ve shared your password with folks you want to party with. If you forget your password, you may read it neatly in your password history.
There’s also something known as a “”If you establish a multiplayer password, you’ll be more likely to receive messages, summon signs, bloodstains, phantoms, and so on from others using the same password,” Elden Ring explains. The appearance of elements with this extra priority will vary from that of other elements.”
We’re not sure what it implies or how it differs from a regular password in terms of gameplay or multiplayer visibility, but we’ll keep you updated as we learn more. If you just want to hang out with your buddies, it seems to be a better option.
How to Respond to a PvP Invasion and Request Co-Op Assistance
To defend against PvP invasions, you’ll need the Blue Cipher Ring, which looks for players who are using the White Cipher Ring to appeal for aid while they are being invaded. When these objects are equipped, they function automatically.
The Twin Maiden Husks in The Roundtable Hold (which you’ll automatically encounter throughout the early tale) sell both of these. Each one will set you back 1,000 Runes.
