At the end of each Expunge mission inDestiny 2 there is a chest. To open it, you need an object called Corrupted Key Code. Destination 2: How to retrieve damaged key codes
After completing the first quest, Corrupted Extinction, in the Splicer’s Code quest, you can collect key codes by defeating enemies of all types in the system. The same goes for the other guards of the Crucible.
It doesn’t matter where you are or what you do. Until you have a maximum of five keys in your inventory, anything you kill has a chance of falling. The drop rate is low, but if you go to an area with a high enemy density, like Altars of Sorrow or Blind Well, you can get the most out of your RNG.
Note that once you obtain five key codes, you cannot obtain them on another character. These items are linked to the account, not the character, and will not be sent to the postmaster. Once you get five, you have to go back to Expunge to spend them.
Destination 2: Best way to use damaged key codes
As mentioned before, use the key codes in the chest at the end of the Corrupted Expunge missions. If your goal is efficiency, only do Tartar exorcism missions on Europa, as they are the shortest. A good run lasts about five minutes if you are particularly fast.
Additionally, you must maximize the upgrade to the Vulnerability Exploit splicer gauntlet to get three pieces of well-pimped seasonal gear.
