Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe had a career that peaked in 2013, when he caught 109 passes for 1,162 yards and six touchdowns. He was the NFL’s second-leading receiver in 2012, but has since fallen out of favor with the league due to his inability to stay healthy.

Clinton Portis is a former running back who played for the Kansas City Chiefs. He was known for being an explosive player, but he shocked everyone when he said that if he were playing in today’s NFL, then a former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver would be the GOAT.

Clinton Portis was a familiar face to the Kansas City Chiefs during his time with the Denver Broncos. Against his then-AFC West rivals, the former running back had a few huge games.

In a recent interview, Portis praised a former Chiefs player who may have been overlooked by others. In today’s NFL, he thinks the Kansas City playmaker would have dominated.

With the Broncos, Clinton Portis faced the Kansas City Chiefs twice a year.

In the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos chose Clinton Portis with the 51st overall selection. He played his first two seasons with Denver, where he was named the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2002.

Portis faced the Kansas City Chiefs twice a season while a member of the Broncos. During the 2002 season, the University of Miami (FL) product outperformed Kansas City in both encounters.

In his debut game against the Chiefs, Portis ran for 70 yards and a score. On 21 carries, the rookie running back rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns in the second encounter. He also had three receptions for 75 yards and a score.

On Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, the Laurel, Mississippi native talked about another memorable game versus the Chiefs in 2003.

“When I look over to the sideline and see Priest Holmes, I know I have to exceed Priest,” he added. “And Priest was a dog,” says the narrator.

Portis arrived to the game with a WWE title belt with the intention of wearing it at some time. On only 22 carries, he rushed for 218 yards and five touchdowns. Sharpe assisted Portis in putting the belt on during the 45-27 win.

Dante Hall, a former Chiefs wide receiver, was lauded by Clinton Portis.

Despite having his way with the Kansas City Chiefs during his two seasons with the Broncos, Clinton Portis had a lot of respect for them.

Trent Green, Priest Holmes, and Tony Gonzalez spearheaded a strong attack for the Chiefs. Another guy on that offense with tremendous skill impressed Portis.

Portis and Shannon Sharpe remembered a game in which wide receiver Dante Hall returned a punt 93 yards for a score in a loss to Kansas City. The Chiefs won the game as a result of the incredible performance. “He shocked a lot of people,” Portis added. “My highlight clips were constantly screwed up by Dante Hall.”

Following that, the former Broncos great made a bold remark regarding Hall’s talents. “Dante Hall would have been the coldest receiver of all time if he could have played in this period today,” he added. “Man, the things slot receivers are doing today is nothing.”

Because of his game-breaking skills, Hall was nicknamed “The Human Joystick.” Some of his moves could only be imitated in a video game.

Hall was a dynamic player, but he isn’t the greatest Chiefs wide receiver of all time.

Dante Hall was a unique character. He deserved a lot more credit for how well he performed in space. He has 145 catches for 1,615 yards and nine touchdowns in seven seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Texas A&M product, on the other hand, caused the bulk of his damage in the return game. In Kansas City, he accumulated 10,526 yards and 11 touchdowns on punt and kick returns.

Given the way the game is played now and the fact that it is a pass-driven league, Hall would have had a lot of success in today’s NFL. In NFL history, though, there have been some outstanding playmakers at the wide receiver position. Not to mention that he isn’t even the greatest wideout in Chiefs history.

Both Eddie Kennison and Dwayne Bowe had successful careers in Kansas City. Kennison was a six-year member of the club who had two 1,000-yard seasons. Bowe had eight seasons with Kansas City, racking up over 1,000 yards three times. In 2010, he led the NFL with 15 touchdowns.

Tyreek Hill, on the other hand, will very certainly be the best Chiefs wideout ever when all is said and done. He’s just in his sixth season with the club, but the five-time Pro Bowler has caught 387 receptions for 5,658 yards and 48 touchdowns in his career.

Hill, often known as “Cheetah,” is a world-class sprinter with remarkable strength for his stature. He’s a huge play in the making. Inquire of Patrick Mahomes.

Tyreek Hill is on another level as a receiver than Dante Hall was as a returner.
