Is there any limit to how far the Boston Celtics can go? They’re as hot as any team in the NBA right now, thanks to Jayson Tatum, their rising star. Tatum has been on a roll recently, leading the club in scoring in each of the previous 11 games.
Boston is 9-2 at that time. Tatum has scored at least 30 points in eight of those games. He scored 54 points in a game against the Brooklyn Nets. He subsequently commented on the game and said that he knew it was going to be his night.
Since January, Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics have been on a tear.

Who’d have guessed the Celtics would be in contention for the Eastern Conference’s top seed? The Celtics were a disappointing 25-25 through 50 games this season, with unhappy players, coaches, and fans. Last season, they went 36-36 in the regular season and had a swift playoff exit, losing in the first round to the Nets.
For the most of the season, the Celtics seemed to be the same old team. Marcus Smart openly chastised Tatum and Jaylen Brown for not passing the ball, implying that there were chemistry concerns. Ime Udoka, a first-year head coach, questioned his players’ performance on many occasions. The Celtics have a history of squandering huge leads.
After a difficult defeat against the New York Knicks on Jan. 6, Udoka challenged them. The Celtics have gone 27-7 since then, putting them 2.5 games behind the Miami Heat for the Eastern Conference lead.
Tatum has led the way. According to a tweet by Celtics play-by-play announcer Sean Grande, Tatum is now the NBA leader in points scored this year. His 1,863 points are four more than DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls.
During his 54-point performance against the Nets, Jayson Tatum felt it.
Tatum has averaged 34.4 points in his previous ten games. This is the same player who missed more than 20 consecutive three-point tries amid a maddening spell of inability to reach the hoop.
Things have definitely improved. He only scored 30 points twice in the final ten games. On the road against the Charlotte Hornets, he scored 44 points. He scored 54 points against Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and the Nets the night before.
He recently commented on the game, claiming that he knew it was going to be his night.
“There’s a point in the game when you’re like, ‘OK, this is my day,’” Tatum told Yahoo Sports’ Krysten Peek. “You’re on a roll, you’re feeling it,” I said, and that was the end of my evening.
He claims the team is playing the game correctly and having a great time doing so.
“We’ve been playing the correct way and having a good time doing it,” he said. “On a nightly basis, we’re simply trying to compete at a high level, and it’s been working.”
Tatum and the Celtics are hitting their stride at the perfect moment.

There are nine games remaining in the regular season for the Celtics. They just returned from a 4-0 tour to the West Coast.
Despite the ups and downs of the season, Tatum claimed the squad never gave up hope. They never lost faith in themselves.
“Somewhere in January, we shifted the season’s trajectory,” he said. “At first, it was a bit tough, but our attitude never altered.” We still believed in ourselves, and we knew we were close to achieving our goal; all we had to do now was get there.”
They had arrived.
Now that the playoffs have here, the Celtics are playing their greatest basketball of the season.
