Aaron Rodgers has made a shocking announcement about his future in the NFL. The Green Bay Packers quarterback said he will retire from football after this season and will not be returning to play for the team in 2019.

Aaron Rodgers made a shocking admission about retiring from the Packers. He has been very successful with them and is looking forward to playing for another team. Read more in detail here: aaron rodgers number.

This offseason, Aaron Rodgers cast serious doubt on his NFL future. Green Bay Packers fans had to face the prospect that the future Hall of Famer might never play another down for the club after he missed optional organized team activities and obligatory minicamp.

Fortunately for them, that dread did not come true.

Despite the fact that Rodgers returned at precisely the appropriate moment, he did not always intend to return to work. In fact, the great quarterback made a startling revelation regarding his retirement from the Packers, demonstrating how close Jordan Love came to taking over a club with genuine Super Bowl hopes.

With Aaron Rodgers back in the picture, Green Bay seems to be a strong Super Bowl candidate.

Prior to the start of training camp, it seemed like Rodgers would not be directing the Packers’ offense this summer. Naturally, having to roll with Jordan Love created clear doubts about their capacity to contend for a championship.

Rodgers ensured that Green Bay would begin the 2021 season as a strong Super Bowl contender after some difficult negotiations and candid discussions.

The Packers have a real chance to return the Lombardi Trophy to its proper home with their great quarterback committed to playing at least one more year for the team. Despite the criticism he receives, general manager Brian Gutekunst has put together a team that is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. Rodgers leads a star-studded offense that features Davante Adams, a sure-handed wide receiver, Adam Jones, a dynamic running back, and Robert Tonyan, an athletic tight end. The Packers should also have a rock-solid offensive line whenever David Bakhtiari recovers from a ruptured ACL he sustained in December.

In the meanwhile, the defense has a lot of interesting components as well. Kenny Clark, a star nose tackle, and Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith, a tough outside linebacker combination, lead the front seven. On the defensive side, All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander leads a secondary that includes Darnell Savage Jr., a third-year safety.

Despite all of their skill, the Packers’ Super Bowl chances are entirely dependent on Rodgers’ right arm. The squad has little chance of winning a championship without him.

Green Bay came perilously near to not having its most important player available for the 2021 season, as it turned out.

For the first time in his career, Rodgers did not participate in the Packers’ offseason program. He did little to quell rumors about a possible move by being away from the club for such a long time.

In fact, as training camp neared, the prospect of Rodgers retiring seemed more plausible.

So, did the three-time MVP ever contemplate retiring from the game of football?

During a recent appearance on the Dan Le Batard & Friends podcast, Rodgers made a shocking admission about how close he came to retiring from the Packers.

“I mean, I felt 50/50 heading into the weekend before camp,” he said. “It doesn’t matter to me if others don’t believe it. That is correct. There were definitely certain things that helped me get to 50/50, and you know, I spent a couple of days in quiet, meditation, and thought and felt strongly that I should return. Green Bay offers a lot of possibilities for development and interesting things, so it seemed like the appropriate thing to do.”

Rodgers clearly decided to put on a Packers jersey again rather than retire his helmet and shoulder pads. The fact that he acknowledged it was a 50/50 choice, on the other hand, demonstrates how serious he was about standing up for himself. While Green Bay fans should be ecstatic to have a highly motivated version of the reigning MVP at the helm, they should be worried about what could happen after the 2021 season.

In 2022, don’t be shocked if the great quarterback chooses to continue his career elsewhere.

Will Aaron Rodgers return to Green Bay in 2022?

The chances of it occurring don’t seem to be very good. After all, if he still wants out after this season, the Packers allegedly have a verbal agreement to move him. Given that he was on the verge of retiring this summer, it’s doubtful that Rodgers would fully abandon his desire for a new start.

Unless he does a full 180, his future in the NFL seems to be playing for another club. Given their vast arsenal of pass-catchers, the Denver Broncos stand out as an apparent match. The Raiders in Las Vegas may potentially seek to make a huge impact by acquiring a quarterback who could help Jon Gruden win a Super Bowl. Could the Eagles make a play for Aaron Rodgers if Jalen Hurts fails to live up to expectations in his second season in Philadelphia?

If the Packers have no choice but to trade him, they should have at least a couple offers on the table.

However, if Aaron Rodgers eventually wins his second Super Bowl ring, he may rethink his decision.
